Classical Sinai Tours

These Programs are very suitable for incoming tourism groups, and especially religious groups who want to include the famous Sinai sites in their tour to Israel, or Israeli organizations in Eilat or Sinai, who want to organize some interesting tours for their clients.

St. Catharine Overday:

After crossing the Border at Taba (if necessary) we drive along the shores of the Red Sea and then through an ever-changing area of bizarre Sandstone-Formations to the Sinai High Mountain Range.  Arriving at St. Catherine, we visit the famous St. Catherine’s Monastery, including the Church, dated back to the 6th Century and never destroyed since then, “The Burning Bush”, and “Jetro’s Well”. After lunch in a Tourism Class Restaurant we drive back to Eilat, stopping by a few interesting sites on the way, according to the remaining time.

St. Catharine & Mt. Moses Overday:

After crossing the Border at Taba (if necessary) we drive along the shores of the Red Sea and then through an ever-changing area of bizarre Sandstone-Formations to the Sinai High Mountain Range.  Arriving at St. Catherine, we visit the famous St. Catherine’s Monastery, including the Church, dated back to the 6th Century and never destroyed since then, “The Burning Bush”, and “Jetro’s Well”. After lunch in a Tourism Class Restaurant we start climbing Mt. Moses, the mountain from which top traditionally the "Ten Commandments" were given. We descend the mountain in the evening and drive back to Eilat.

2 Day St. Catherine (including Mt. Moses):

Day 1: After crossing the Border at Taba (if necessary) we drive along the shores of the Red Sea and then through an ever-changing area of bizarre Sandstone-Formations to the Sinai High Mountain Range. If we climb Mt. Moses for sunrise (not recommended!) we will take the time to swim in the colorful coral-reef by Nuweiba, and also stop by the Oasis Ein Hudra (Biblical Hatzeroth?) and the famous “Rock of Inscriptions” nearby. We continue driving to St. Catherine. It is recommended to climb Mt. Moses, the traditional Mt. Sinai, where the Ten Commandments were given, the same day. Doing so, we “earn” a good night sleep, and avoid the noisy masses climbing on the Mountain for sunrise. Overnight in a Tourism Class Hotel in St. Catherine.

Day 2: (It is possible, but not recommended, to climb Mt. Moses for sunrise, with the masses). After Breakfast we visit the famous St. Catherine’s Monastery, including the Church, dated back to the 6th Century and never destroyed since then, “The Burning Bush”, and “Jetro’s Well”. After lunch in a Tourism Class Restaurant we drive back to Eilat, stopping by Ein Hudra, “The Rock of Inscriptions” and maybe for a swim in the Red Sea, as described above in Day 1.

  • Price includes accommodation in a Tourist Class Hotel in St. Catherine on HB-basis, and 2 Lunches, as stated in the itinerary.
  • It is also possible to make the same program with jeeps, allowing us to know and experience the off-the-beaten-track desert. Extra charge for Jeeps: $15 per Person per Day.
