1 Day Jerusalem Classical Tour
Itinerary:
Our guide will await you at your hotel, and drive you to the Holy City – Jerusalem!
We start our tour in Jerusalem with a panoramic view of the holy city from the Mount of Olives. A leisurely walk takes us down, through the holy Jewish cemetery, to the "Garden of Gethsemane" with its "Church of all Nations" and ancient Olive trees, almost 2000 years old! We continue to the "Wailing Wall", the last remnants of the holy Jewish Temple, and, conditions permitting, visit the Temple Mount itself, where we can see the Muslim Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque. Then we walk through the Muslim Quarter and the colorful "Suq" (Bazaar) and follow some stations of the "Via Dolorosa", the "Way of the Cross" according to Christian tradition. The Way of the Cross ends at the "Church of the Holy Sepulcher", built traditionally on the site where Jesus was crucified and buried. We end the Old City tour at the Jewish Quarter, including the Roman Cardo, as well as Mt. Zion with King David's Tomb and the Place of the Last Supper. In the afternoon we drive through Jerusalem's New City, driving past the Knesset building, housing Israel's Parliament, and the peculiar white dome of the "Shrine of the Book" at the Israel Museum and take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque village Ein Karem, where according to local tradition John the Baptist was born. A scenic road, through the wood-covered Judean Hills takes us back to Tel Aviv.

Notes:
